Welcome
Dear Parents, Families and Carers,
Thank you for taking an interest in our school. We would like to use this website as an opportunity to tell you a little more about ourselves.
Talbot Primary School is a safe and happy school committed to ensuring that all our children have the best possible education during this vital time of their lives. The school strives for high academic standards across the whole curriculum to give every child the opportunity to achieve their full potential. To fulfil this ambition, we nurture the “whole” child and encourage their emotional and social development as well as their learning attainment.
We are an academy within the Hamwic Education Trust and work alongside 3 other schools in the Greenway Partnership, Bishop St Aldhelms Primary School and Livingstone Road Infant & Junior School. As Headteacher, I am committed to improving the education of all children in our school. I believe that all children have a right to an education which will help them develop intellectually, morally, socially, culturally, physically and spiritually promoting a lifelong love of learning.
Our children are a source of great pride to us, they are well behaved, respectful and have an excellent attitude towards school and learning.
I am very proud of our staff, together we make a strong and enthusiastic team. We have a fully equipped Early Years unit, with extensive indoor and outdoor learning space. This also includes substantial grounds, fully used to promote physical health and wellbeing and explore the expressive arts. We also have a wonderful indoor, heated swimming pool, a dedicated science lab and a music room which supports peripatetic musical tuition in brass, guitar, violin, drums and keyboard. Please go to www.ofsted.gov.uk if you would like to view recent reports.
At Talbot Primary School we see education as a partnership between parents, children and staff where we all work together to support the children’s educational and personal development. A friendly and open relationship with parents is an important part of this. We acknowledge the role of parents as the first and main educators of their children. We therefore seek to work in a positive and productive partnership with parents in all aspects of children’s development and education.
We all work hard but we also make sure that being at Talbot Primary School is fun. We look forward to meeting you and your family and welcoming you all into the Talbot community.
Sincerely,
Kate Curtis
